Entry
The race can be entered on SiEntries here https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?event_id=15607
1) The race is £75 per person. You can enter a Team of 2,3 or 4. The Prize categories will be for a Team of 4 and a Team of 2 (Teams of 3 count as a Team of 2). As well as two fully stocked, manned checkpoints and a third checkpoints with hot drinks and snacks, all competitors will receive a Harbours Gin miniature and a commemorative mug, and a hearty vegetable chilli at the finish.
2) We will check Previous Experience when you enter and you will initially be placed on a Pre-Selection list. We will aim to send out an email confirming your acceptance and requesting payment.
As a minimum we require two members to have one of the below so both Team Members in a Team of 2. Then in a Team of 3 or 4 the other members can be less experienced. Please do email me if you would like clarification as to whether your team members would be accepted.
a) 1 x Mountain marathon experience.
b) 2 x Long fell race / Scottish Classics fell race completions.
c) Other Experience and competence on the hills. Rounds are perfectly acceptable eg Bob Graham etc as are any long, full days out on the mountains with navigation.
3) To enter a Team the Team Captain will first need a "Team Name" then to add themselves. To add extra Team members you click Add Team Member at the bottom and you need the the SI Entry number, email address and last name of each team member to the Team. When SI Entries brings up that Team Member you then add Experience in the blank box and make sure the Emergency contact box are complete. You can now save the completed Team entry.
3a) You can enter someone who isn't currently on SiEntries but will need full details such as dob, address, contact details, medical history as well as Experience and Emergency contact details.
4) There will be prizes for Teams of 2 and Teams of 4 and hopefully the following categories depending on entries: Open Team, Ladies Team, Mixed Teams and Vets Team. A Mixed Team is any combination of Men and Women.
Route
We will be using Opentracking to record that Teams have visited each of the following checkpoints. You are free to choose your own route between checkpoints however I have published "recommended route" and marked some unclear forestry areas. There will be extra manned checkpoints on each of the three mountainous sections for safety and you will be told where these are at Registration.
There is a cut off at TBA at CP5 (Dee Bridge Track CP) and TBA Sunday at CP11 (Track CP after Corran of Portmark) and the overall cut off will be 10am on Sunday 14th September.
